EXCEPTIONS to checkout period length:

Recalls - Items requested by another patron may be recalled after 21 days for any user. See section below on Recalled Items for more info.

Items needed for course reserves may be recalled immediately.

Recalled Items

Holds may be placed by any user for an item that is currently checked out to another user. The book will be recalled by email from that user after an initial 21-day checkout period. The user will then have one week to return the item.

Any items not returned by the end of the week will begin accruing a fine of $3.00 per day.

When the recalled book is returned to the Library, an email will be sent to the user who placed the hold, letting them know their hold is available. Holds are kept at the Circulation desk for pickup one week after the hold notice is sent. Any holds not picked up within that time period will go back to the shelf.

Users may place holds through their Account or in person at the Circulation desk.

Lost/Damaged Items

Lost/damaged materials should be reported as soon as possible to the Library Circulation Department at (919) 761-2251 or Circulation

Items still in print/available for purchase = cost of replacement + $20 per item handling fee + overdue fines

Items out of print/unavailable for purchase = $75 minimum + $20 per item handling fee + overdue fines

NOTE: Replacement items provided by the user will not be accepted.

Returns

Checked out items may be returned in person at the Library or mailed to:

The Library at Southeastern

114 N. Wingate St.

Wake Forest, NC 27587

When mailing, packages should be insured. Users accept full financial responsibility for the cost of lost or damaged items if package is not insured.

Items returned by mail are checked-in according to the post-mark date.

After-hours returns may be placed in our book drop by the Library's entrance.

Borrowing from other Libraries

Through its relationships with other theological libraries in North Carolina and throughout the US, students and faculty can often borrow items from other institutions in person. For more information about this service, click here
