Microsoft Excel Project

  • Use the xls file ‘Mission Trip – raw’ for this exercise.

  • Make sure cells C2:G12, B16:B19, & B22: B25 are formatted as currency (dollar and cents).

  • Filling out cells B22:B25

Meals on the road: Budget so that you will have $5.00 + 7% tax per meal. You have 11 people going on the mission trip, and you will be eating 2 meals.
Free Day Meal: Budget a max of $15.00 per person for 11 people.
Entertainment: Budget a max of $15.00 per person for 11 people.
T-Shirts: Budget $12.00 per shirt for 11 people.

  • Filling out cells G2:G12
The trip costs $250.00 per person, plus an even distribution of the above expenses.
HINT: you can take the SUM of the above cells and divide it by 11 people and add it to $250.00.

  • Filling out cells F2:F12
WARNING: These are probably the hardest cells to fill.
Fill these cells using relative and absolute reference.
The youth only get money if they have participated in the fund raiser (see worksheet Participation for that information).
Here is how you calculate how much money they get from a specific fundraisers:

=Amount Raised(CELL that corresponds to them/total number participating)

If they participated in the fundraiser the CELL that corresponds to them will equal 1 and thus they will get money for the activity. If they did not participate in the fundraiser the CELL that corresponds to them will equal 0 and thus they will get no money for the activity.
HINT: you can use the SUM function to calculate how many people actually participated in the event.

  • Filling out cells E2:E12
    This will be calculated using:

  • Finally you need to sort the youth by last name. Be careful when you do this !!!

  • You need to E-mail me this formatted document with the subject: Project2
