The Dock: Doctoral Commons Policy

  • The Dock is a commons area on the first floor of the Library at Southeastern.
  • The Dock is reserved for Southeastern doctoral and Th.M. students.
  • The Dock will be open for use during Library operating hours except in the case of a scheduled event.
    • Hours for the Dock are displayed on the Library’s website under the Study Rooms tab. (Patrons will not be allowed to reserve The Dock, but scheduled events will display as a blocked-out time in that tab).
  • Doctoral and Th.M. students are free to use the amenities in The Dock, however, personal items left in The Dock will be taken to the Lost and Found or simply thrown away at the Library staff’s discretion.
  • The refrigerator will be emptied every Friday evening. At that time, library staff will throw away any and all items remaining in the refrigerator.
  • Please be mindful of other patrons using this space and try not to disrupt others sharing this space.
  • The Dock is a destination, not a route. Please do not travel through the Dock on your way to the restroom, the staff breakroom, the Writing Center, or the Library Technical services area.
