Archives Reference Policies and Procedures: Dataloggers

Locating and Collecting Dataloggers

There are 8 Dataloggers placed throughout all three levels of the Library including the Archives and Special Collections rooms. Each device records the relative humidity and temperature of its location every five minutes. The first Monday of each month these devices are collected and their information offloaded and saved using HOBOware software. Before removing the devices from their locations pictured below, recording is stopped by following these steps:

  1. Hold down the button above where the screen reads "stop."
  2. Once you begin holding down this button, the screen will read "hold."
  3. Continue holding down the button until the screen goes blank or reads "Stop."

Once the devices have been collected, individual reports and master projects need to be created using HOBOware. Follow the instructions below to create these files.
