Microsoft Office 365 Apps

The Microsoft Office 365 apps are found through logging into Microsoft Office 365 using the Archives and Digitization Assistant student account.

Microsoft Outlook Calendar

Archives Reference is the calendar used to manage Archives Reference scheduling and events. The calendar is accessed from the Microsoft Office 365 homepage or from the desktop if Outlook is installed on the desktop. 

On the Archives Reference calendar you'll find:

  • Reference desk staffing schedule (during summer and semester breaks)
  • Department meetings
  • Research appointments
  • Sailhamer Room reservations
  • Preservation task reminders
  • Special events and visitors

This calendar should be monitored daily as it is the most up to date information regarding Archives scheduling and events.

 

Microsoft Teams Chat

If you need to quickly communicate from the reference desk with Jonathan or Drew, you can use the Microsoft Teams chat app. The Teams app is accessed from the Microsoft Office 365 homepage or from the desktop if Teams is installed on the desktop.

This form of communication is for non urgent matters such as:

  • General patron FAQ
  • Reference related responsibilities
  • Needing a break 
  • Policy clarification
  • Help locating an item
  • Etc.

Microsoft Outlook Email

In rare cases, you may need to email a resource link to a patron. In that case, you would email the patron from the general archives account:

archives@sebts.edu 

The Email app is accessed from the Microsoft Office 365 homepage or from the desktop if Email is installed on the desktop.
