Biographical Note: Warwick Aiken Jr. (1920-2016) served as an Episcopal priest primarily in the Dioceses of Mississippi, North Carolina, and South Carolina. He served at Epiphany Church (Tunica, MS) from 1951 to 1955, at St. Luke's and St. Mary's Episcopal Church (Eden, NC), at St. Botolph's Church (Barton Seagrave, ENG) in 1963, at the Episcopal Church of the Messiah (Rockingham, NC) from 1967 to 1973, and St. Peter's Episcopal Church (Charleston, SC) from 1973 to 1976 before returning to his former churches in Eden until his retirement in the 1980s. Aiken also served as a volunteer chaplain, occasionally did week-long devotions on the WAYN radio station, and served on the board of the New York based rescue mission St. Paul's House.

Scope and Contents: This collection contains typed manuscripts, hymns, evangelistic tracts, booklets, photocopies of newspaper clippings, correspondence and other materials ranging from 1940-2005 that were created or collected by Warwick Aiken Jr. The materials cover a range of subjects such as Bible reading strategies, apostasy within the Episcopal Church, salvation, the Passover, predestination, and New Testament commentary. Of particular interest is the correspondence between Aiken and a denominational leader regarding the language of "satisfaction" in the book of common prayer.
