Historical Note: The Convocation of the Laity was a series of conferences held at the six Southern Baptist seminaries that each focused on the role laypeople should play in the mission and ministry of the church. The conference held at Southeastern Seminary was entitled All Are Called, Gifted, Sent: Empowering All the People of God (¬Laos) for Bold Mission. The conference included laypeople, seminary professors, and students as speakers. Speakers included Christine Gregory, Doyle Pennington, Findley Edge, Jerry Nosin, O.F. Hamilton, Reid Hardin, Dick Broholm, Bill Clemmons, and Bill Diehl. 

Scope and Contents: This collection consists of 11 video cassettes of the Convocation of the Laity Conference held at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary from April 26-28, 1984 and includes a schedule of events, list of breakout sessions, and list of speakers.
