Biographical Note: Edward Lamar “Bill” Shaw (1924-2018) was born in Lowndesville, South Carolina. He began his singing career in the early 1950s with the All American Quartet. Then in 1952 he became a member of the Blackwood Brothers Quartet. While Bill Served on the Blackwood Brothers Quartet, they became very well-known and won the Arthur Godfrey Talent Scouts Program in 1954. In addition to his successful singing career, Bill Shaw also wrote many successful Gospel songs. He would leave the quartet in 1973 and pursue other musical ventures. In 2005, he was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

Scope and Contents: This collection contains one box of materials related to the life of gospel singer Bill Shaw. The material in this collection contains biographical information, correspondence, drafts of a book he was writing, a memorial service of the Blackwood brothers, and handwritten notes by Bill Shaw. It also contains audio tape transcripts, audio tapes, and a bag the collection was donated in. The Collection was arranged by similar or relevant material.
