Historical Note: The Randolph Baptist Association began its meetings in North Carolina in 1935 held with Bulah Baptist Church. In 1935, 28 churches comprised this association, and by 2001, the association grew 64% to include 46 churches. On the Randolph Baptist Association website (URL: randolphbaptistassociation.com), their "about us" statement reads: "The Goal of the Randolph Baptist Association is to equip and encourage the Southern Baptist Churches of Randolph County and their members to fulfill the great commission in our community and world. RBA is the hub that intersects our churches together to facilitate the work of the ministry that God has called us to do." The association consists of churches in the following cities in North Carolina: Archdale, Asheboro, Bennett, Cedar Falls, Denton, Franklinville, Liberty, Ramseur, Randleman, Seagrove, Sophia, and Staley. Geographically, all but two of these cities are located in Randolph County, North Carolina; Bennett is located East of Randolph County in Chatham County, North Carolina, and Denton is located West of Randolph County in Davidson County, North Carolina.
Scope and Contents: These records contain Randolph Baptist Association's newsletters (bulletins), conference documents, and stationary, as well as select programs, annuals, and directories from the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina. The format of all material is text and the items are arranged chronologically within series.
