Biographical Note: Thomas G. Parker Jr. is a graduate of Baylor University, Dallas Theological Seminary, and Western Conservative Baptist Seminary School of Psychology who, along with his father, Thomas Parker Sr., was involved in the Conservative Resurgence of the Southern Baptist Convention. Thomas Parker Sr. served on the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention from 1982-1983. The correspondence and periodicals in this collection were primarily addressed to Thomas Parker Sr. 

Scope and Contents: This collection contains material related to the founding of the conservative newspaper, the Southern Baptist Advocate, and correspondence between conservative leaders and Thomas Parker Sr. and Thomas Parker Jr. This collection also contains several periodicals related to the Conservative Resurgence.
